Sensory deprivation, the mind blindfold Existential degradation not felt before Veils of death and sleep Woven from the same fabric Of sweet unsullied peace Cold sweat as I wake up It’s living life that is arming my hand Asleep dreams and awake hopes I’m killing them all They say broken hearts Cannot break no more Mine has been put on ice So long ago Cold sweat as I wake up It’s living life that is arming my hand Asleep dreams and awake hopes I’m killing them all Let me fall down to sleep Morbidly deep, no glimpse of dreams Let me fall down to sleep Woke life is not made for me Let me fall down to sleep Morbidly deep, no glimpse of dreams Let me fall down to sleep Woke life is not made for me Post sleep trauma is all woke life got to give me Post sleep trauma is all woke life got to give me
2.
Massive black hole at the sky Hungrily devouring all light Event horizon as close as ever tonight Space-time is frozen still Reaching zero entropy Existence now will cease to be Fragile construct of reality Dark cracks from which light flee As hearts shatter from within Stars are nowhere to be seen Sky is now a hollow dome Last time there will ever be dawn As eternal night is enthroned Rising from the void Black ether that penetrates all shapes and forms And the world is dreaming Dreaming of the night of no light The night of no light Fragile construct of reality Dark cracks from which light flee As hearts shatter from within Stars are nowhere to be seen No stars in the sky Bowing to the night of all nights No stars in the sky Bowing to the night of all nights

And at the night time of my heart That’s when you come and shine Brighter than a thousand suns My moonlight shine on me tonight Enchanted by your flame Pieces apart Broken remains of a heart Enchanted by your flame Feelings are blooming once more Under your shine I’m reborn Celestial body out of reach Breaking apart our equinox As from your orbit you diverge Shining now at foreign domes Which constellation now does you star adorn Whose skin does your light burn Enchanted by your flame Pieces apart Broken remains of a heart Enchanted by your flame Feelings are blooming once more Under your shine I’m reborn
4.
The mind’s adrift In serpentine paths Returns to source The primordial chaos Salvation’s not an option And nothing of the earthly being to save Eradicate existence from all planes in victory Samsara’s wheel broken apart, burnt to the ground Free from life and death of the heart And the ship’s setting sails Giving up on land And the waves Drowning us to the abyss Last stop to nowhere Samsara’s wheel broken apart, burnt to the ground Free from life and death of the minds And the ship’s setting sails Giving up on land And the waves Drowning us to the abyss Last stop to nowhere

Entering dreamtime Here's a velvet dream to hold on tight to And drift away, and to the body say goodbye Around the heart no more barbed-wire Let the spirit fly With the earth it has no tie Let the spirit fly High to the sky Let the spirit fly And if for greater glory it yearns Closer to the sky as it gets And if the extension of your heart Gets too high close to the sun That is what it’s made for So let it go, let it burn Let the spirit fly With the earth it has no tie Let the spirit fly High to the sky Let the spirit fly And if for greater glory it yearns Closer to the sky as it gets Let the spirit Let the spirit fly home No more heart tears, leaving this world behind No more heart tears, no more shackles around the mind No more heart tears, wrap all your troubles in dreams No more heart tears, slash your wrist and the spirit is pleased
7.
Days of chromium steel And hearts just as rigid Refractions of the feeble light A colorless palette Time standing still Not anymore healing anything But during dreamtime The synapses come alive Electric signals passing through the brain Particles the neurons stimulate Aroused cortex and pupils wide Glimpse a way out of reality Yet unseen colours Senses coming to a peak Growing to an unreachable zenith As new planes of existence start to reveal So why believe
8.
Why Believe 04:54
Seeds of doubt cast in hopeless hearts to grow Belief in living life degrades so fast But the dream’s artifacts making the neurons glow And when the eyes close it’s mind’s turn to act Why believe in words that tame the brain While lucid words await to be seen Away from gray reality and human hearts so hollow Let dreams regain the unconscious control Abandon living world, the spirit will be whole By falling into sleep, the mind’s eye will see The brightest color of all, unseen never before Reality fades into the most colorful shades Spectrum of light is enhanced Why believe in what the eyes can see Why believe in senses incomplete Unable to capture the universal stimuli Reality fades into the most colorful shades Spectrum of light is enhanced Why believe in what the eyes can see

about

Reflection Black is the manifestation of mastermind’s Elis Alex musical visions, originating from the urban landscapes of Athens, Greece. The band aims at delivering melodic Goth Rock and Post-Punk with a modern 21st century edge and the darkest imagery, infused by Alex’s Black Metal past (Ravencult, Nigredo). The result is dark, fast and polished striking the perfect balance between dreamy synth lines, crystalline guitars and infectious vocal hooks.

Following the release of the debut 3-track EP Entering Dreamtime in 2022, Reflection Black are back with their first full-length album, Last Stop to Nowhere, released on digital & CD format by renowned label SwissDarkNights. Recorded during 2022, the album was mixed and mastered by George Emmanuel (Lucifer’s Child, ex-Rotting Christ) at Pentagram Studio in Athens, Greece. Last Stop to Nowhere showcases the full potential of the band’s songwriting skills with 8 distinct tracks of melodic and innovative Goth/Post-Punk which bring together diverse elements of all aspects of the genre in the most consistent way.

The album title summarizes the essence of the lyrical themes explored throughout the entire record, “a sense of mental and spiritual escapism with the questioning of current realities of all forms”, explains Alex. “By exploring the concepts of sleep, death, dreams and the occult in the album’s lyrics, spiritual elevation and degradation can be seen as two sides of the same coin leading to a state of non-existence, the last stop to nowhere.”

The album stands out due to the imaginative synthesis of multiple elements from the genres of Post-Punk, Darkwave, Goth or even Metal. Album opener “Post Sleep Trauma” features catchy riffs and a surprising saxophone solo with a darkened Surf Rock mood. Lead single “No Stars In The Sky” is a classic, contagious Post-Punk tune but with the lyrical content about the black forces of entropy shutting down the light of existence reaching almost Black Metal territory. Towards the end of the album, “Yet Unseen Colours” is an unexpected anthemic interlude with an ambient atmosphere of heavily layered synths talking about an alternative sensory reality explored through dreams.

With Last Stop to Nowhere, Reflection Black brings a boundary-pushing approach to the table. The future awaits for even more of their visions from the blackest depths of the other side of the mirror.
